Public access and intended work
Gemini 4 Argon became publicly available on 13 October 2026 through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio after an earlier restricted introduction. It is designed for demanding coding, reasoning and knowledge work. Text, images, video, audio and PDFs can be supplied as input; responses are text.
One window includes the generated answer
The 1,048,576-token limit is shared by input, thinking and output. The synchronous output allowance is 65,536 tokens. Longer responses use background execution and continuation hops; the theoretical 1M maximum is reduced by the tokens already consumed by the request. A 1M input followed by a separate 1M answer is not a valid interpretation of the specification.
Settings and introductory prices
Reasoning depth uses low, medium or high, with medium the default. Implicit caching is supported, while explicit cache creation is not. Introductory token rates last through 30 November 2026, after which the listed input, cached-input and output rates double. Include thinking tokens and the date of the workload in a budget, especially for long background jobs.
Evaluating Gemini 4 Argon
Replay a demanding task at more than one thinking level. For a long response, verify the completed background interaction and join every output step before judging completeness. Keep a record of input, thinking and generated tokens together. Test that the application handles an exhausted shared context window and interrupted or incomplete background work.
Record the exact model identifier, deployment route and request settings with each result. Count complete runs, including rejected outputs, retries and tool calls. When the workflow creates files or code, open the files or execute the existing checks before accepting the result. A plausible first response can hide an incomplete final deliverable.
The specifications describe supported interfaces and request capacity. They do not establish a measured quality ranking or a latency guarantee for your account. SyncDev has not independently benchmarked this model. Choose a deployment after testing the languages, input formats and operating conditions that matter to your users.
