What is the MCPBot Server and Client MCP Server?

MCPBot combines a FastAPI MCP server with a conversation client, configurable tools and account-aware request handling.

Connect to the server component

MCPBot includes both an assistant-facing web client and a server implementation. The server registers configured tool and prompt modules and mounts a Streamable HTTP session manager under /mcp/. Its wider examples include knowledge retrieval and workplace booking. The available tools depend on the deployment's modules and integrations, so a repository example is not a universal catalogue for every installation.

Prepare the deployment configuration

The project requires Python 3.13 and pins its MCP dependency to SDK 1.12.3. Configuration, secrets and integration dependencies need to be prepared before starting the FastAPI application. External MCP requests use the project's Bearer-token validation. Loopback requests instead require a user_email header, so the example token-only local configuration does not cover that branch of the middleware.

Verify the intended user and tools

Connect to your own deployed HTTPS endpoint, confirm the user context and list available tools before calling an integration. Start with a known knowledge item. Booking a desk or parking space is a separate operation from reading availability. The authentication implementation belongs to this application; the repository's planned OAuth improvements should not be described as completed standardized MCP authorization.
