What is the Handover MCP Server?

Handover MCP supports passing a text note from one agent session to another. Its one-shot workflow is useful for a small handoff such as a task brief or the context needed to continue a job.

Write a handoff that stands on its own

Include the objective, completed work and the next concrete step. A one-shot note is consumed when read, so preserve any information that must remain available elsewhere. The documented default expiry is sixty minutes, with a maximum of twenty-four hours.

Keep the transport distinction clear

The hosted endpoint is https://handover.tools/mcp and does not require an account for the documented one-shot flow. Those notes are server-readable plaintext. The project separately describes an end-to-end encrypted channel workflow using its client; do not assume that every note sent through the hosted MCP endpoint receives that encryption.
