What is the Canva Official MCP Server?

Canva’s official remote MCP server exposes documented design, asset and export workflows to supported AI applications.

Design creation and editing

The vendor describes design creation and editing, library search, asset and brand management, export and commenting. Start with a design brief that specifies audience, dimensions, approved copy and any existing brand assets. Ask for a reviewable proposal before changing a shared design.

Per-user authorization

Every user authorizes individually. The operations available to that user depend on their own permissions in Canva, and some capabilities require a paid plan. A connector shared by an organization does not grant every teammate the same design access.

Canva’s current developer guidance describes OAuth client recognition and Client ID Metadata Documents, with older dynamic registration kept for compatibility. Follow the supported client or application integration instructions rather than assuming any client URL configuration completes app registration.

Verify the exported asset

Review the design in Canva and inspect the actual export at its target dimensions. Check copy, cropping, fonts and the use of approved assets. A successful generation can still create an image that does not meet a brand or publication brief.

Choose the right handoff

Use Canva when the deliverable belongs in its design workflow. Use Figma’s official integration when the task concerns a Figma frame and implementation context. Account access and supported tools differ between those integrations even when both are used for design work.
