Grok Voice Transcribe 2.0 transcribes recorded and streaming audio; the retired 1.0 API name now routes to this revision.
Recorded modality support shows what this model can accept and produce. An undocumented modality is shown as unknown rather than assumed to be unsupported.

Grok Voice Transcribe 2.0 was released on 17 September 2026 for recorded and streaming speech-to-text. It is a transcription model, rather than a spoken assistant or a text-to-speech system. Check its transcript independently from any later summarization or voice response performed by another model.
Use grok-voice-transcribe-2.0 in the speech-to-text interface. The previous grok-voice-transcribe-1.0 name reached end of life on 2 October 2026 and is now routed to 2.0. A saved old request identifier therefore does not reproduce the old model. Record the serving revision alongside transcript evaluations.
The release keeps the earlier revision’s pricing arrangement. Use the current speech service’s audio-duration billing and account limits when estimating a run; a language model token price cannot be transferred to transcription. Check the selected audio encoding, sample rate and streaming events before evaluating transcript accuracy or responsiveness.
Use recordings with reviewed transcripts and a mixture of proper names, numbers, background noise and speaker changes. Evaluate file and live paths separately. For streaming, track stable-turn latency and whether partial transcript revisions are handled correctly by the application.
Record the exact model identifier, deployment route and request settings with each result. Count complete runs, including rejected outputs, retries and tool calls. When the workflow creates files or code, open the files or execute the existing checks before accepting the result. A plausible first response can hide an incomplete final deliverable.
The specifications describe supported interfaces and request capacity. They do not establish a measured quality ranking or a latency guarantee for your account. SyncDev has not independently benchmarked this model. Choose a deployment after testing the languages, input formats and operating conditions that matter to your users.
