Verify each model’s source, terms, capabilities, and current availability
Arcee AI publishes the Trinity family of open-weight language models. Trinity Mini is a mixture-of-experts checkpoint: its total weight count and the parameters activated for each token describe different parts of its deployment footprint.
Active parameters help explain the work performed for a token. Total parameters matter when storing and loading the model. Neither figure, by itself, tells you whether a particular GPU configuration will meet your latency target. Include the runtime, precision, context length and batch size when comparing resource requirements.
The publisher's model card documents local serving options and a hosted route. Test the exact route your application will use, because tool parsing, limits and billing belong to that deployment. An open-weight download and a managed API are different purchasing and operational choices.
Start with tasks that have checkable outcomes: code that passes tests, structured data that validates and tool calls with correct arguments. Track retries and malformed responses alongside speed. For long documents, include facts in the middle of the input and contradictory passages; a large context allowance alone does not prove reliable retrieval.
Compare alternatives in the text generation collection and the model comparison tool.
Review each record individually; collection membership does not imply a recommendation or guarantee of availability.

About this order: Recommended shows our editorial shortlist first, followed by recent releases. The spec score is a 0–100 figure SyncDev calculates from each vendor's published specifications — context window, reasoning support, input modalities, tool calling, maximum output and how recently the model shipped. It measures breadth of capability, not benchmark performance, so a higher-scoring model is not automatically the better choice for your task.
