Read-only discovery for exact-commit Agent Skill validation, x402 payment, and signed receipts. That is what the vouchspec agent skill evidence mcp server brings to an AI assistant: the same capability, reachable through the Model Context Protocol rather than a separate app or dashboard.
VouchSpec is the provisional public-beta name for an independent evidence index for exact Agent Skill versions. The name passed a $0 obvious-conflict screen; it has not received formal legal or trademark clearance.
Because this one is hosted, setup is mostly authentication — you point your client at the endpoint and approve access. Nothing runs on your machine, so there is no runtime to keep patched.
Configuration is passed through the environment: RECEIPT_ID. Treat anything key-shaped as a real credential — scope it to the minimum the server needs, and rotate it if it ever lands in a shared config.
Among the payments and commerce options, the useful question is rarely "what can it do" but "what does it cost you to run" — permissions, credentials, and how much of your context its toolset consumes.
