What is the Solana Agent Kit MCP server?

Solana Agent Kit MCP server exists for a simple reason — assistants are far more useful when they can act on Solana Agent Kit directly instead of describing what you should do. Enables Claude AI to interact with the Solana blockchain through a standardized Model Context Protocol interface.

What you get

Check on Phala

This MCP server extends Claude's capabilities by providing tools to:

What the assistant can call

Once Solana Agent Kit is connected, these are the calls the assistant has available:

  • GET_ASSET — Retrieve information about a Solana asset/token
  • DEPLOY_TOKEN — Deploy a new token on Solana
  • GET_PRICE — Fetch price information for tokens
  • WALLET_ADDRESS — Get the wallet address
  • BALANCE — Check wallet balance
  • TRANSFER — Transfer tokens between wallets
  • MINT_NFT — Create and mint new NFTs
  • TRADE — Execute token trades
  • REQUEST_FUNDS — Request funds (useful for testing/development)
  • RESOLVE_DOMAIN — Resolve Solana domain names
  • GET_TPS — Get current transactions per second on Solana

Configuration and credentials

You will need 4 environment variables: RPC_URL, SOLANA_PRIVATE_KEY, OPENAI_API_KEY, DEPLOY_TOKEN. The server will not start without them, which is usually why the tools fail to appear on a first run. Keep credentials in your client's env block or a secrets manager rather than in a file you might commit.

  • Node.js (v16 or higher) * pnpm (recommended), npm, or yarn * Solana wallet with private key * Solana RPC URL (mainnet, testnet, or devnet)

Setting it up

Installation goes through your MCP client rather than a global install: point it at solana-mcp on npm and it is fetched when the client starts. The copy-paste blocks for Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor are further down this page.

Choosing this one

Among the cloud and infrastructure options, the useful question is rarely "what can it do" but "what does it cost you to run" — permissions, credentials, and how much of your context its toolset consumes. Solana Agent Kit's toolset — GET_ASSET, DEPLOY_TOKEN, GET_PRICE and 8 more — is a fair guide to whether it matches your workflow. It is maintained by sendaifun; worth a glance at recent repository activity before you build anything load-bearing on it.

SyncDev reviews every entry in this directory against the project's own documentation before publishing, and revisits them as servers change.

Before you rely on it

  • It runs with your machine's permissions. That is convenient and also the reason to think about what you point it at before you approve a tool call.
  • With 11 tools registered it takes up a noticeable share of the context window; turn it off in projects that never touch Solana Agent Kit.
  • Missing credentials fail quietly in some clients — if no tools show up, check the environment block first.
  • MCP clients confirm each tool call by default. Leave that on until you have watched what the solana agent kit mcp server does with a few real requests.

Frequently asked questions

It uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to provide a standardized interface for AI agents to access Solana blockchain functionality. You configure the kit with your Solana private key and RPC URL.
