Slop or Not exposes text scoring, readability, cleanup and image-scoring tools from its installed Mac application over stdio.
The Mac application's MCP mode exposes the same Pro tools as its CLI. Text tools return a scoring result, readability information and cleanup output; image tools provide detection and raw scoring. Readability uses language-specific formulas. Text detection is documented for English, so do not interpret every supported readability language as a supported detector language.
The setup guide requires Slop or Not for Mac, an active Pro account and command-line access. An MCP client can launch the app's slop binary with the mcp argument. The repository's skills and plugin files support this workflow but do not install the Mac application or activate Pro. Using the absolute app-bundle path avoids dependence on a shell shortcut.
Check server status first, then use a short sample with known formatting. Compare cleanup output with the original and inspect the numeric score scale before displaying percentages. A detector score is an estimate, not proof of who wrote a passage. Use readability and cleanup results to improve clarity while keeping the writer's intended meaning, examples and factual claims intact.
Check the linked publisher documentation and your connected client's tool list. Names and availability can vary with the server version and account permissions.
