What is the MCP MCP server?

MCP MCP server is a locally run integration for AI assistants that speak the Model Context Protocol. MCP server for temporary email management using ChatTempMail API.

What the assistant can call

Once MCP is connected, these are the calls the assistant has available:

  • get_email_domains — The get_email_domains tool exposed by this server
  • create_email — The create_email tool exposed by this server
  • list_emails — The list_emails tool exposed by this server
  • delete_email — The delete_email tool exposed by this server
  • get_messages — The get_messages tool exposed by this server
  • get_message_detail — The get_message_detail tool exposed by this server
  • delete_message — The delete_message tool exposed by this server
  • get_webhook_config — The get_webhook_config tool exposed by this server
  • set_webhook_config — The set_webhook_config tool exposed by this server

Setting it up

Setup follows the usual MCP pattern — install or clone the server, register it in your client's configuration file, restart the client. The configuration blocks on this page cover the common clients.

Configuration and credentials

You will need 2 environment variables: TEMPMAIL_API_KEY, TEMPMAIL_BASE_URL. The server will not start without them, which is usually why the tools fail to appear on a first run. Keep credentials in your client's env block or a secrets manager rather than in a file you might commit.

Choosing this one

Plenty of team communication servers cover similar ground. The differences that matter in practice are scope of access and how much setup stands between you and a working tool call. MCP's toolset — get_email_domains, create_email, list_emails and 6 more — is a fair guide to whether it matches your workflow. It is maintained by Selenium39; worth a glance at recent repository activity before you build anything load-bearing on it.

We check each listing at SyncDev against the project's documentation before it goes live — if something here drifts out of date, it is a bug worth reporting.

Before you rely on it

  • It runs with your machine's permissions. That is convenient and also the reason to think about what you point it at before you approve a tool call.
  • With 9 tools registered it takes up a noticeable share of the context window; turn it off in projects that never touch MCP.
  • Missing credentials fail quietly in some clients — if no tools show up, check the environment block first.
  • MCP clients confirm each tool call by default. Leave that on until you have watched what the mcp mcp server does with a few real requests.

Frequently asked questions

It connects MCP to MCP-compatible AI assistants such as Claude and Cursor, exposing 9 tools (get_email_domains, create_email, list_emails, and more) that the assistant can call on your behalf. Instead of copying data back and forth by hand, the assistant works with MCP directly.
