What it actually does

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for interacting with Nutanix Prism Central APIs through Large Language Models (LLMs).

This MCP server allows LLMs to interact with Nutanix Prism Central by:

Adding it to your client

Setup follows the usual MCP pattern — install or clone the server, register it in your client's configuration file, restart the client.

Its toolset

Everything the assistant can do here goes through one of these:

• Prerequisites — The Prerequisites tool exposed by this server
• Building — The Building tool exposed by this server
• Cursor — For Cursor, you need to provide static credentials via environment variables since it doesn't support interactive prompts

Configuration

You will need 4 environment variables: NUTANIX_ENDPOINT, NUTANIX_USERNAME, NUTANIX_PASSWORD, NUTANIX_INSECURE. Keep credentials in your client's env block or a secrets manager rather than in a file you might commit.

Caveats

• It runs with your machine's permissions. That is convenient and also the reason to think about what you point it at before you approve a tool call.
