Memside is an AI continuity and memory hub for people who work across ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, IDEs, coding agents, and other AI tools that support OAuth, MCP, or API-key connections. It gives you a private place to save reusable context, decisions, operating rules, project notes, and checkpoints so you can move from one AI to another without rebuilding the same background every time.
Because this one is hosted, setup is mostly authentication — you point your client at the endpoint and approve access. Nothing runs on your machine, so there is no runtime to keep patched.
Configuration is passed through the environment: MEMSIDE_API_KEY. Treat anything key-shaped as a real credential — scope it to the minimum the server needs, and rotate it if it ever lands in a shared config.
Among the knowledge and memory options, the useful question is rarely "what can it do" but "what does it cost you to run" — permissions, credentials, and how much of your context its toolset consumes.
