The MCP SSE Proxy Server is a Server-Sent Events (SSE) based Model Context Protocol (MCP) proxy server that enables remote execution of MCP servers using the standard MCP protocol. It supports both shared and independent session modes.
Configuration is passed through the environment: MCP_SERVER_CONFIG, AUTH_KEY, SHARED_SESSION, GITHUB_PERSONAL_ACCESS_TOKEN. Treat anything key-shaped as a real credential — scope it to the minimum the server needs, and rotate it if it ever lands in a shared config.
The server ships on npm as and, so your MCP client can launch it on demand — there is no separate build step. Add the server block to your client's configuration, restart it, and the tools register themselves.
