Latvian legislation via MCP — full-text search across statutes and provisions
Most database access work still happens through a UI a human drives. Latvian MCP server moves it into the conversation instead. Latvian legislation via MCP — full-text search across statutes and provisions.
First request opens an OAuth signup flow (setup details: ansvar.eu/docs/quickstart). After signup, your client is bound to your account; tier (free / premium / team / company) determines fan-out, quota, and which downstream MCPs are reachable.
We build AI-accelerated compliance and legal research tools for the European market. This MCP server started as our internal reference tool for Latvian law -- turns out everyone building for the Baltic and EU markets has the same research frustrations.
@anthropic/mcp-inspector on npm is all you need. Most clients run it directly, so configuration is a few lines and a restart.
The server publishes 14 tools. What each one is for:
search_legislation — FTS5 full-text search across 57,679 provisions with BM25 ranking. Supports Latvian, quoted phrases, boolean operators, prefix wildcardsget_provision — Retrieve specific provision by statute identifier + section (e.g., "Fizisko personu datu apstrādes likums" + "25")check_currency — Check if a statute is in force, amended, or repealedvalidate_citation — Validate citation against database -- zero-hallucination checkbuild_legal_stance — Aggregate citations from multiple statutes for a legal topicformat_citation — Format citations per Latvian conventions (full/short/pinpoint)list_sources — List all available statutes with metadata, coverage scope, and data provenanceabout — Server info, capabilities, dataset statistics, and coverage summaryget_eu_basis — Get EU directives/regulations for a Latvian statuteget_latvian_implementations — Find Latvian laws implementing a specific EU actsearch_eu_implementations — Search EU documents with Latvian implementation countsget_provision_eu_basis — Get EU law references for a specific provisionPlenty of database access servers cover similar ground. The differences that matter in practice are scope of access and how much setup stands between you and a working tool call. Latvian's toolset — search_legislation, get_provision, check_currency and 11 more — is a fair guide to whether it matches your workflow. It is maintained by eu.ansvar; worth a glance at recent repository activity before you build anything load-bearing on it.
SyncDev reviews every entry in this directory against the project's own documentation before publishing, and revisits them as servers change.
