Huawei Cloud DevKit MCP connects an assistant to cloud authentication, voucher operations and Huawei Cloud API actions through a CLI bridge.
The repository implements a local hc-devkit CLI and a cloud service that handles MCP requests. Its tools authenticate with Huawei Cloud access keys, update credentials, inspect or claim a voucher and invoke supported cloud operations. The available API actions and the account's permissions determine what the assistant can do.
Authentication takes access-key and secret-key values through the tool interface and returns a session token. These are not generic environment variables that automatically configure every deployment. Review where the CLI sends those values before connecting a cloud account.
The README's demonstration cloud-service address uses plain HTTP. It should not be treated as a recommended place to send production cloud credentials. Configure and assess a controlled HTTPS deployment before using cloud keys, and inspect the CLI's endpoint configuration. The package's local stdio bridge and the cloud backend are separate pieces of the connection.
Begin with a limited account and a known resource in the intended region. Compare returned identifiers and resource state with the Huawei Cloud console. The invocation tool can perform cloud operations, so distinguish a resource lookup from a change before requesting it. Voucher eligibility is specific to the documented workflow; it does not imply that cloud resources are free.
Check the linked publisher documentation and your connected client's tool list. Names and availability can vary with the server version and account permissions.
