What is the Guardrly MCP Server?

Guardrly wraps HTTP requests as an MCP tool and records agent activity through a local Python server and optional cloud logging.

Observe requests made by an agent

Guardrly provides an HTTP-request tool for methods including GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE. The Python server records request activity and can send logs to the Guardrly service. It is a request wrapper, so an agent still needs to choose the intended API, method and credentials. A successful log does not establish that the underlying request was appropriate.

Configure logging and credentials

The project documents Python 3.11 and a local stdio process launched with python3 -m guardrly. Its registry manifest lists GUARDRLY_API_KEY and HMAC_SECRET; API_URL configures the service destination. Source dependencies use the SDK 1 FastMCP import without an upper version bound. Use compatible MCP SDK dependencies or migrate the import when preparing the environment.

Review a sample request

Start with a GET against an API you control and a synthetic payload. Compare the response and local log, then inspect which fields reach cloud logging. The source includes a PII scrubber, but review its behavior against your own fields and retention requirements. The reasoning-log placeholder is not a completed reasoning-capture feature. Requests that change a target system remain separate actions from observing those requests.
