Google Calendar MCP Python creates, updates and retrieves calendar events through a local Python server with Google OAuth credentials.
Google Calendar MCP Python creates, updates and retrieves calendar events through a local Python server with Google OAuth credentials.
This community integration gives an assistant access to Google Calendar event workflows. The README documents event creation, modification and retrieval. Use it for a scheduling task with a clear calendar, time zone and intended participants rather than relying on an ambiguous natural-language time.
Enable the Calendar API in a Google Cloud project and create the OAuth client described by the project. The local server expects GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID, GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET and GOOGLE_REFRESH_TOKEN. These values allow access within the granted scopes and belong in private client configuration.
The repository supplies the mcp-calendar-python package and a uvx client entry point. Keep the launch configuration and OAuth credentials together for the intended account. A package installation alone does not grant calendar access; the token and project setup are separate prerequisites.
Start with a test calendar. Create a draft test event with an explicit time zone and check its start, end and description in Google Calendar. Then retrieve or update that same event using its identifier. Avoid confusing the ability to call an event tool with evidence that the final event matches the request. This Python integration is MIT-licensed and is maintained by the repository author, not presented as an official Google MCP server.
