What is the Preflight MCP Publishability Checker MCP Server?

Preflight checks MCP publishing artifacts against directory rules and returns findings with supporting evidence and suggested fixes.

Check the files you plan to publish

Preflight inspects server manifests, package metadata and related publishing artifacts. The documented tool checks the requirements of the MCP Registry, Smithery and npm. Its findings identify the affected artifact, the supporting evidence, the rule type and a suggested fix. Supply the actual files for your release rather than treating a generic sample as evidence that your package is ready.

Use the current implementation

The project moved into the Skillfoundry products repository while keeping the same hosted MCP route. The old standalone repository is preserved as release history. The current README documents a Streamable HTTP endpoint and the check_publish_readiness tool. The service performs static artifact linting and reports unchecked areas in its response.

Read the finding, then verify the server

Start with the manifest and package metadata together so ownership and entry-point checks have enough input. Resolve blockers, inspect warnings and follow the linked directory rules before submitting. Passing artifact checks does not test TLS, transport negotiation, stdio behavior or live tool discovery; those endpoint probes are explicitly not implemented. A useful release review therefore includes both the artifact findings and a separate connection check of the actual server.
