Contentful MCP Server for Delivery API
Contentful Delivery MCP server is a locally run integration for AI assistants that speak the Model Context Protocol. Contentful MCP Server for Delivery API.
A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides seamless access to Contentful's Delivery API through AI assistants. Query and retrieve content entries, assets, and content types using natural language.
Once Contentful Delivery is connected, these are the calls the assistant has available:
query_entries — Natural language search across all contentget_entry — Fetch specific entry by IDget_entries — List entries with filteringget_assets — Browse all assetsget_asset — Get asset details by IDget_content_type — View content type schemaget_content_types — List available content typesYou will need 3 environment variables: CONTENTFUL_SPACE_ID, CONTENTFUL_ACCESS_TOKEN, CONTENTFUL_CONTENT_TYPE_IDS. The server will not start without them, which is usually why the tools fail to appear on a first run. Keep credentials in your client's env block or a secrets manager rather than in a file you might commit.
Installation goes through your MCP client rather than a global install: point it at @mshaaban0/contentful-delivery-mcp-server on npm and it is fetched when the client starts. The copy-paste blocks for Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor are further down this page.
This sits in the developer tooling group, where several servers overlap in what they claim to do but differ sharply once you actually set them up. Contentful Delivery's toolset — query_entries, get_entry, get_entries and 4 more — is a fair guide to whether it matches your workflow. It is maintained by mshaaban0; worth a glance at recent repository activity before you build anything load-bearing on it.
This entry was verified against Contentful Delivery's own documentation before publication; SyncDev keeps the directory reviewed rather than auto-generated.
