Airtable’s official MCP server connects compatible assistants to base data using the authorized user’s Airtable permissions.
The documented endpoint is https://mcp.airtable.com/mcp. The documented service is available across Airtable plans, subject to existing permissions and API limits. Interface-only access and base-level access are different; an account may be able to read an interface without receiving edit access to its underlying base.
Use the configuration documented for your chosen client. Complete any required account authorization, inspect the discovered tools and begin with one read whose answer you already know.
Use the base and table identifiers when asking a data question. Define the filter and whether you need all records or a selected view. Ask the assistant to preserve field types and distinguish an empty value from a zero.
Keep resource identifiers and source links in the answer. They make it possible to reproduce the result and identify whether the assistant used the intended document, workspace or dataset.
For a write, review the specific records and fields before applying it. Creating a base requires the relevant workspace permission. Verify the resulting records in Airtable rather than relying only on a successful tool response.
If a connection works but the workflow fails, inspect the resource scope and required arguments before changing the URL. For recurring use, retain the client version and the selected account or source context with the workflow, then recheck discovery after updates.
