What is the Advanced Reason MCP Server?

Advanced Reason MCP lets an assistant request reflection and reasoning from configured model APIs through a local TypeScript server.

Add a separate reflection step

The project connects a local MCP server to Gemini and an OpenRouter-selected model. It is intended to add a reasoning or critique step to the host assistant's workflow. The server does not automatically inherit all project files or the full conversation context; provide the information needed to assess the specific problem.

Build the documented source

Install the repository dependencies and run its build script to produce dist/index.js. Register that file as a Node stdio server with the documented Gemini and OpenRouter keys. OPENROUTER_MODEL selects the route when the default is unsuitable. Package metadata does not define a runnable npm binary, so the setup uses the implemented source entry point.

Compare reasoning with evidence

Start with a bounded question and supplied context whose answer can be checked. Inspect assumptions, missing information and source references in the returned critique. A second model's agreement is not proof that a conclusion is correct. Long requests can exceed the server or client's timeout, and provider availability and charges follow the configured APIs.
